The Do’s and Don’ts after Wisdom Tooth Removal

Your wisdom tooth needs to be extracted for different reasons. Some of these involve your tooth’s abnormal position when it has erupted or when it is trapped below the gum line because of lack of space. After the operation, you may experience swelling around your mouth and cheeks, pain around the jaw area, an unlikable taste in your mouth and numbness of your face or tongue.

For these reasons, you need to take some precautionary measures right after your wisdom tooth removal. First and foremost you should avoid stressing yourself too much especially from strenuous activities. When resting or sleeping, elevate your head by using two pillows underneath your head since elevation can reduce swelling. Also, consume soft foods and cool, smooth drinks while your mouth is still in a healing process.

Feel free to ask your dentist for the do’s and don’ts after having your wisdom tooth is removed. Being well informed will keep you from any problems involving complications from wisdom teeth extraction. Here at Malouf Dental, we perform safe and outstanding operation for your wisdom teeth by means of our high-quality dental equipment.
